Stock Car Brasil (also called the Brazilian Stock Car Championship) is a form of motorsport in Brazil created in 1979. It began as a monobrand, with the support of Chevrolet. Over the years, other brands entered and left the category, such as Mitsubishi, Volkswagen and Peugeot. In 2017, Chevrolet continued as a sponsor. With 30 cars on the grid, the championship is contested in 12 rounds, 10 of which are doubles, the Corrida do Milhão, and the grand final with double points, covering six Brazilian states and the Federal District, plus the international round in Argentina. It currently has Stock Car Light as its base category, replacing the Brazilian Tourism Championship.
